Audience Research: Survey

Instead of just collecting qualitative data, we wanted  some quantitative research on what people like to see in music videos. The closed questions helped us gain data and know what people prefer to see within music videos.
Firstly we wanted to have knowledge on the profile of Foo Fighters fans. The standard questions of Gender and Age were important to us, as we wanted to know which of our ideas will suit some age groups better than others.

The Results:
- A slightly larger segment of the audience are males (9/15)
- All of them age between 16-20 (15/15)
- This shows that our audience are of both genders, the age means they'll have a good understanding of editing in music videos and that the story line should appeal to that specific age group

We then wanted to find out whether they had a preference of a video that was just a band performing, A video with a story line, or a combination of both. With this question we wanted to see whether our idea of a story based video was going to be approved by the audience

 The Results:
- None of the people wanted to see a video of just a live band performance, but would rather see a combination of the two going on through out the video
- 4/15 of the people would rather see a video with just a story line going on throughout

- With this information we realise that our audience would rather watch a video that has a story featured in it, then just a band performing

We also wanted to know whether characters with in a video should have a stereotypical role or whether they should be countertypes. We also wanted know whether a music video effects your opinion on the song

The Results
- A countertype of a character is preferred in a music video
- The music video does effect peoples opinion on the song
